Inspired by The Vintage Fashion Journal

I have found a new addition to my notebook addiction, and this time it’s seriously illustrated!

Stealing my heart this month is The Vintage Fashion Journal, an illustrated homage to more than just fashion, but timeless style; that succinct destination that is reached with a little bit of imagination, flair, and inspiration from classic style icons.

By choosing vintage trinkets such as mismatched crockery and collected buttons and sketching them on the page, fashion illustrator du jour, Niki Pilkington, has caught the mood of a generation then coloured it in with a felt-tip pen.

Published by Laurence King, this cloth-covered (and boy, have you seen the cover?) notebook is bound with a red ribbon, and interspersed with pictures of fashionistas, retro accessories, lined and squared pages to jot down your notes, and blank spaces to scribble some inspirational images of your very own.

I personally am a fiend for clever quotes, and this book imparts them generously; “Fashion is very important,” is the line quoted from Vivienne Westwood. “It is life enhancing and like everything that gives pleasure it is worth doing well.”

The Vintage Fashion Journal illustrated by Niki Pilkington is published byLaurence King, and priced at £12.95
